چکیده

Seaweeds are known sources of bioactive compounds that provide diverse health benefits. However, knowledge on the potential pharmaceutical application some economically important seaweeds such as Halymenia durvillei is still limited. In this study, properties H. were studied. The results showed macroalga contains a total phenolic content (TPC) 6.77 ± 0.03 mg GAE/g. Antioxidant activity exhibited potent ABTS+ radical scavenging and high copper reduction capacity with IC50 value 106 μg GAE/mL 20.44 GAE/mL, respectively. vitro assessment tyrosinase elastase inhibition extract alga has inhibitory 40 696 respectively more effective than kojic acid tocopherol. addition, evaluation -amylase 56 acarbose (standard anti-diabetic drug) 101 μg/mL. current investigation shows for application, which can be utilized synthesis novel drugs.

Antioxidant and antidiabetic activities of extracts from Cirsium japonicum roots

This study investigated the antioxidant activity of methanol (MeOH) and water extracts from roots of Cirsium japonicumin vitro. MeOH extract showed a stronger free radical scavenging activity than water extract. However, both of extracts showed a concentration dependent hydroxyl radical scavenging activity, reducing power and metal chelating ability. MeOH extract had greater phenolic and flavon...
